I wish we could pass this on to all the jerks on the highway and roads, respect the other guy, give each other space, operate safely, and enjoy the freedoms that we have, oh wait a minute,, this is the real world and that aint gonna happen,,,lol

I see bass boaters practically every outing that give all of us a bad name. Burns my britches that some of us go out of our way (and will continue to do so) to be ultra-courteous and then some jerk comes along and undoes all of our efforts by acting a fool. We all know the old saying about one aw-sh** wiping out 10 attaboys.

Phil has the best advice. Kill 'em with kindness. You never know what battles a battle ax is facing, but certainly don't let their attitude spoil your day. 96 Champ, you hit the nail on the head with one word R-E-S-P-E-C-T and that goes for everything in today's narcissistic world. It's all about me, me, me with no respect for others, creation or even their own families. When someone is rude or behaves outrageously, it is a lack of respect for you. The only option is to be the bigger person and know that at the end of the day you treated everyone you met with respect. Usually those people don't respect themselves either. Sad. Put the bow of your boat into the wind and blow the junk out as you head for your favorite spot. :)

The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope.

Here in a couple of weeks we are gonna blow all this stuff out of our head when we head to fox valley lake conservation area up near Hannibal and camp out for 3 days under the stars. Taking the boat, do a little Fishin, squirrel huntin, shootin and soak up the stars under a fire, let's get it on!!! Makes us all better

Sounds fun. Grew up huntin' bushytails with my grandfather and dad but haven't shot anything in years. Never thought I'd say such a thing as a youngster but I'm just too soft-hearted to kill anything these days -- the exception being walleye, crappie and some small spotted bass, but NOT 15-inchers from Table Rock.

Enjoy your trip. Sounds like a large time.

Bad karma has its own way of working out. This story applies to wake boats, PWC, tournament fishermen, all equally.

Some years ago I was on Keystone Lake outside of Tulsa. I was in a tin boat and I was fishing for stripers. (Phil, why does auto correct want to turn that word into strippers?)

A very sleek and powerful boat from Ugly John's boat dealership launched across the way. It had next to no V, next to no rise from the water line, and a very loud rumba rumba rumba whiiirrrr noise. The driver idled and surged up and down the cove any number of times. The engine was unmuffled and tuned to intimidate. The driver finally made an abbreviated run from the front of the large cove to the back. He shut it down and turned, revving his engine at a constant cadence. Then, with a final rev, he popped the boat on plane and screamed from the cove out onto the choppy lake. He turned slightly into the wind and waves. His boat skimmed the first 5 or 7 wake tops, then knifed into the next. He and the boat disappeared like a diving plane.

We fished him from the lake, but his boat remained stuck in the shallow bottom for a week before they towed and yanked it free.

That's hilarious, there's always grumpys at every lake.

Got me. Bass tracker 175 a couple days ago. I think those are the only ones that no one complains about. Hahaha lil 60 horse with no wake or Noise. I've been in everyone's shoes. I used to wakeboard every other day and now I fish every other day. Biggest problem I saw was when fisherman when go into cow

On a nice Calm evening. WELL of course that's where the pleasure boats are gonna be it has a ski course in it. And now I'm just as annoyed as the next bass fisher about the wakes. And it has only been 3 years since I have done the wakeboard thing. So the moral of the story is deal with it.....no 1 person can please anyone and take in consideration other people and be as good as you can out there. Treat them how you want to be treated. And keep in mind boys, it's turning fall and we are about to get our lake back haha.....No one Will Ever win this battle between pleasure boats and fisherman.

A lot of fishermen are just bitchers, be it on rivers or lakes, many don't understand that water sports apply to more than just fishing. There is plenty of water to go around and the best fishermen know how to avoid the crowds. If you look at the guys on this forum that consistently put up good fishing reports be it on lakes or rivers, they rarely are complaining about non-fishermen interrupting their trips.

I have never let them ruin my day. One of the best days I have ever had was at Table Rock in July. With boats running all over the place. I was right down by the dam. I just put that stuff in the back of my mind. I really don't have a problem with them. The only thing that is a bit scary is when pulling a skier or a tuber and they're not pay attention to whats going on around them. I have had a good number of them cut me off with kid in tow. I usually just shut down and let them do there thing until they realize they have cut me off. But it really helps knowing how to run in big water. I could see a guy who spears wave after wave being pissed. I run an 18 ft 188vs ranger and have never been swamped or speared a wave bad enough to mess anything up. I have also been on Kentucky Lake when there is a 25=30 mph south wind in that boat. If I can handle that, then these boat waves are really not an issue IMO
