Geez I must just look like a criminal. I get checked at least every couple of years. Don't mind it at all.

I wouldn't mind either if you could just show them the yellow slip and be left alone. But they always wanna stand around and chit-chat when the fish are biting and I don't wanna be rude to "a man with a badge" so I just have to stand there while he lingers and endure his boringness.

For some reason Authority Figures find me interesting, but the feeling is seldom reciprocal.

Only times I have been checked in Missouri were at Stockton. Don't mind it though, nice to be bothered.

I understand that. Used to drive me crazy too. Now I don't mind it as long as they are polite. But the last few times have been the same guy at the same place and he's usually too busy to hang around.

Look in a mirror... :secret-laugh:

Although I feel enforcement isn't nearly what it should be my experience has been different. I typically get checked once a year and often twice. I don't know why I get check more than most, it almost always happens at a public access. Over the course of a season I use many different access but I never hang around longer than it takes to load and launch. Of all the times I've been check the experience usually starts well and with a few exceptions ended well.

I've been checked 3 times in the last couple years, at 3 different places (Stockton, Capps creek and Spring river). The agent that checked me at Spring river came out of the woods along the bank quite a ways from any public access. Startled me when I heard a voice from the other side of the river behind me, thought I was the only one out there so I paddled over and said "where the heck did you come from?" :) He was nice enough, but seemed disappointed that I had a valid license. It doesn't bother me a bit to get checked, it's actually kinda nice to see at least some enforcement out there, and I've got absolutely nothing to hide.

The ones at Stockton (2 agents at the boat ramp) got in the boat after we pulled it out and counted the fish in both livewells.

The last time I got checked the agent told me I just looked like a guy who wouldn't have a license. WTH??

I was asked for my licence at Busch Wildlife of all places a couple weeks ago. No big deal at all but it made me wonder since I've been going there for 30 years and that was a first. Last time before that was at the end of Blue Springs Creek where it joins with the Meramec. That was about 20 years ago but it impressed me since the agent had to plow through the brush to get to me LOL. I'm glad they are doing their jobs. In another life that would be the job I would want to have.
