J-Doc Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 I don't see what the big deal is. This fish ride around in the boat all day and most of the time it's a rough ride. Now that's a fair point. fishinwrench Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 How does a truck driver hauling 50-100+ untagged bass across a state line get around the whole possession limit law thing ? It would suck if he crashed...Bass flopping around on the interstate and getting all road-rashed ect. All individually charged with seatbelt violations.
Feathers and Fins Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 How is it crossing "State Lines"? TR is Mo, Springfield is MO no state line to cross unless someone runs up the white and then its no biggy if they have the WRBP. 15 Anglers is not a lot and sure seems like in the interest of the fish they could just do a weigh in at the Ramp like they did the Everett Tourney last week and so many more across the nation. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856

merc1997 Bo Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 since the emphasis anymore is all about getting the bass back into the water unharmed, i do not see the sense in hauling bass that far, and especially this time of the year. this time of the year, a good amount of those bass will be caught from deep depths, and that fact alone makes them hard to keep alive. i do not agree with any of these tournaments hauling bass a long way from the lake to a weigh-in. then there is the issue of just where they actually release these bass. bo
97procraft Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Fish get transported all over the country all the time. I am sure that if a dolphin can make the trip in a tank from Florida to Connecticut a bass should not have a problem with a small 1 hour ride. I am sure they will be given every special attention they can to ensure their survival. Lets give these guys the benifit of the doubt before throughing them under the bus.
REDSOXWSCHAMP Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 i am working at the weigh-in on sunday, i will report back what happens to the fish, good or bad

One would think the people in charge would not want to dwindle their resource. Benefit of doubt is not a common thing on here while throwing under the bus is. J-Doc Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Didn't you know? It's all about the bass. They are special and superior to dolphins and other species. (J/k) Agreed. Benefit of doubt should be given. Initial response is "why" but I bet they do their best to preserve and keep a low impact. Bass guys tend to be uber sensitive about their sport. :-) Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. Champ188 Posted September 12, 2014 Author Posted September 12, 2014 Just for clarity, these bass will be trailered to Springfield in the livewells of the boats they were caught in. No specially equipped truck will take them there. No tournament angler is going to be asked to trust his catch to someone else for transport.
