Mitch f Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 He was last seen hanging out at MDC boat ramps selling smallmouth cook books. Witnesses say he was also caught putting gas back into vehicles. Police say he's easy to spot...He will be wearing sandals when it's 40 degress outside. Please approach with caution. Gavin Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Know that dude and boat ramp. Figure I should call the police? Hope you had great time!
Mitch f Posted September 14, 2014 Author Posted September 14, 2014 We had a great time but sorry to report the fishing sucked. We noticed millions of 1" long fry all over the river. So I started asking people about what species of fry that could be????? Hopefully they aren't Asian carp babies ? this really has me thinking. "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
LittleRedFisherman Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Makes me feel better guys. I went Friday solo for bout 4 hours. Just a few dinks, weather was nice but created lockjaw I guess. I'll be on the watch for this guy There's no such thing, as a bad day fishing!

Mitch f Posted September 14, 2014 Author Posted September 14, 2014 Shad ? Let's hope you're right! You're the second who said this "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
fishinwrench Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Yeah I've no idea what part of which river/lake you were fishing at but schools of 1" juvenile shad are everywhere now on the bodies of water that HAVE shad in them. Oh, and count me among the near-skunked for yesterday as well. I was right in the middle of them and could only get a few to chase or bite. BUT a buddy less than 3 miles down lake from where I was at took a solid limit on buzzbaits. Figure that one out !
Gavin Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Too bad. Post front bluebird days tend to suck in the Spring & Fall. Couple days of stable weather and it's on again usually. Can't pick when you can go often enough though.

Caught 3 in a row on my craw in deeper rock piles. Scott caught the biggest 15" smallmouth on topwater but other than that the topwater bite was non existent.
