Do you guys know of anything going on down on the gravois and or Indian creek regarding the whites, been waiting to get down to my buddies in Indian creek to chase them whites

That's where I do most of my white bass fishing, Champ. So what I posted above applys to there moreso than anyplace.

If you are gear-fishing in a 20' bassboat then the long flat mainlake points are your best bet cuz you won't be able to navigate the backend flats very good. But if you have access to a Jon boat or small aluminum rig then you're in business.

I like it when the whites and hybrids converge on stretches of windy rock banks between stretches of docks, crappie fishing slows down move over and throw a white jig along the windy bank and hang on, sometimes you get a nice hybrid and it takes a while to bring it in on crappie gear. Personally I like to eat the hybrids better than the whites but either way they ain't bad. Fillet them like normal then carefully slice off the layer of red that was next to the skin and the strip down the middle. When you have a pile paint them with melted butter and put them on a foil lined sheet cake pan on the grill, season them fairly heavy with some cajun seasoning, (I like slap ya mamma), and cook until they flake. Let them cool off and break the fish up somewhat. Mix up a batch of sauce heavy on greek yogurt, garlic, lime juice and dill, slather it on a soft tortilla and put in a good layer of fish, add a few cilantro leaves chopped up and some more sauce if you wish and eat. I know fish taco sounds terrible, but done right they are delicious. Dang now I gotta go home and see how much work I have to do before I can even see if the boat is still where I parked it.

I caught 1 hybrid that went around 7# in the spring years back crappie Fishin with a small 1/8 oz spinner bait that I make up and he like to strip all the line off my reel, it was a blast, where might one expect to find these hybrids on the lake at this time of the year?

We have run into them in Rainey Creek, launching out of Browns Bend, there seems to always be at least one bank in there where the wind is hitting. Seems like if the wind blows the same direction for 2 days or more the whites and hybrids will be there munching on shad. We did well in early November (I think that was 2 years ago), just before deer season, sometimes we would be the only vehicle in the parking lot, and maybe the only customer at Possum Hollow for a cheeseburger as well, but man o man the crappie were silly cooperative and if you got bored or it slowed down hit the "bank of many things", sometimes you would get a hit, set the hook and my buddy would say, what have you got, I would have to answer, I don't know if I can turn him away from the open lake we might find out, usually a nice hybrid but about everything thing was hanging around catfish, toothy fish, etc. I remember being very confused on opening day of deer season, I wanted to go fishing but my buddy was deer hunting, only thing I could think about while in the tree stand was another limit of crappie and whites, kept making me drool on my orange jacket.

The hybrids prefer the flats near deep channel breaks and when the wind kicks up they will be there near the same depth as the shad. Topwaters like a chug bug or boy howdy can be a blast in the fall when they get shallow. Make sure your drag is not set too tight!
