oneshot Posted October 7, 2014 Author Posted October 7, 2014 Just found out more on what happen at Circle J's. The owners knew that this was going to happen over a year ago. They have bought a New place to live but wouldn't disclose where it is. On their Help they was taking 50% of their Pay that was to be going into Taxes and such, it was going into Owners Pockets. The people working there have went to draw Unemployment, they can't because there is no record of them ever working there. oneshot
ness Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 They have bought a New place to live but wouldn't disclose where it is. The only smart thing they've done John
Wayne SW/MO Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 The people working there have went to draw Unemployment, they can't because there is no record of them ever working there. oneshot I seriously doubt they got any SS or Medicare credit either. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
mic Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 That is a good way to get shot in that neck of the woods.
fishinwrench Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 50% of 20% of minimum wage isn't gonna add up to much SS/MEDICARE credit. LOL And it darn sure isn't gonna build a house.
Flysmallie Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 50% of 20% of minimum wage isn't gonna add up to much SS/MEDICARE credit. LOL Probably wouldn't feel that way if you were one of the employees.
fishinwrench Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Probably wouldn't feel that way if you were one of the employees. Are you trying to tell me that the "employees" of Circle J didn't know they were getting paid under the table ? Hell I seriously doubt that any of them even submitted an application when they started (meaning that they also never even wrote down their SSN). First name and cell phone number was prolly all the info Circle J had on any of their hired hands. Take a lesson from a small town boy just this one time. The IRS will be expecting 1099's from those folks NOW.....Assuming that they even earned enough to justify filing.
fishinwrench Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Just for clarity here, we are talking about a low income trailer park and a diner that MIGHT sell (on average) 3-5 plates of food per day. It ain't exactly a "Resort".
