50% of 20% of minimum wage isn't gonna add up to much SS/MEDICARE credit. LOL

And it darn sure isn't gonna build a house.

Ok I will admit I only talked with one of the Employees and she said they was with holding $100 out of her $200 check. Plus they was Collecting Rent on spaces that they weren't to. No money collected was going back into the business for the simple fact they knew this was going to happen.

Just for clarity here, we are talking about a low income trailer park and a diner that MIGHT sell (on average) 3-5 plates of food per day.

It ain't exactly a "Resort". :)

Well I would drive by there at Breakfast and Lunch, Parking Lot would be full.

It's one thing to be paid under the table. It's a whole other story when they tell you they are withholding taxes but spending that money on their own personal bullshit.

Take a lesson from what used to be a small town boy but got sick of that ignorance.

If you hire someone you treat them right. Period. It doesn't matter if it's Walmart or Joe's Worm Farm. Being a small town dumbass isn't an excuse.

I'm not a fan of government or the IRS, and I feel horrible for the people that were living there or have campers there, but let's put the blame where it belongs. Like it or not, if we live in this country we have tax obligations. (for the record, I don't like it)

This Johnson guy says " no one would give me an amount"?????? Then why did the reporter go directly to the courthouse and find the document with the specific amounts? According to several reports, he was notified ONE YEAR ago that the judge OK'd the seizure and sale of the property. Did HE notify his tenants??? Apparently not. Another report said he was notified specifically 90 days before the actual seizure and that his tax troubles go back over 10 years.

Did he notify his tenants, including the 72 year old Air Force Veteran living there? Or did he just keep collecting their rent knowing about the $hi+storm that was coming? Even the IRS put out public notice three months ago and according to several news reports, they were stunned that the owner hadn't notified his tenants.

The only sympathy I have is for the tenants.

If the story that he had 300 or 400 guns is true that sounds like "fence". It wouldn't be too far fetched in Dallas or Laclede counties where burglery is common.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

BTW, I've been in touch with the VFW and American Legion down there trying to track down Everett Thompson to see if I can help. If anyone reading this has any connections or ideas, I'm all eyes.

Ha! Skip tracing isn't a term you hear every day!

If you get a hit, let me know. I think a random act of kindness is in order.

Agreed. I had kinda blown it off, so thanks for keeping it up.

I know a guy that delivers propane, and another from the fire dept.

Surely one of them will have something of use on record.
