laker67 Posted November 1, 2014 Author Posted November 1, 2014 You asking me, specifically ? I'd rather the trout be thrown in the Red, White, and Blues myself, but hey if they wanna haul them across the state and throw them into drainage ditches in a lame attempt to "promote trout fishing"...... WTFever. My thoughts exactly.
laker67 Posted November 1, 2014 Author Posted November 1, 2014 I think they should initiate an urban wide derby for the largest, ugliest, and the trout with the most lures attached to body parts other than the mouth. It could start on the date of the catch and keep season. All trout found dead must be entered the same day. Partially eaten of filleted will not be eligible.
Greasy B Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 Fishing for stubby finned bows is pretty lame without shoals to navigate, branches to duck and a current that can knock you off your feet. I guess I'll do it once or twice a year but I would rather get skunked in a beautiful place than bag a limit standing on a sidewalk. His father touches the Claw in spite of Kevin's warnings and breaks two legs just as a thunderstorm tears the house apart. Kevin runs away with the Claw. He becomes captain of the Greasy Bastard, a small ship carrying rubber goods between England and Burma. Michael Palin, Terry Jones, 1974
fishinwrench Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 So true. You can not experience "trout fishing" by catching a trout from a bluegill pond.
Fly_Guy Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 With 1 exception every trout you catch in swmo will have started out with its fins rubbed off. Shepard of the Hills hatchery is located right next to taneycomo for goodness sake. But it gives many people the chance to prance around in $600 worth of Orvis gear to get a "wild trout experience". I wonder what Someone from Colorado would say about your fishing experience? When I went last week, there were several parents and kids who were havinga blast catching trout. .. but I guess that people who don't have the luxury of living close to a "wild" (ALSO STOCKED) trout stream don't deserve any experience with such a sacred (introduced non native) fish. Come on people. ...

Fly_Guy Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 Not at all. . Just laughing at the hypocrisy.
Fly_Guy Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 Does it hurt when someone criticizes your brand of trout fishing?
laker67 Posted November 1, 2014 Author Posted November 1, 2014 Does it hurt when someone criticizes your brand of trout fishing? I have criticized the urban brand, you are welcome to criticize the brand you care least for.
Fly_Guy Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 Honestly, I'm happy whether I be catching wild trout in the Appalachians (as I have done the last 2.5 years, getting skunked at Crane, fishing at Taneycomo, Roaring River, or local ponds. I've been lucky in this regard.
