In some states this, ie baiting deer is perfectly legal. No different than fishing with live bait, just because you dont do it that way doesnt mean that others cant if allowed by law. Killing any deer with a bow under any circumstance is difficult at best.

In my opinion that is not the same at all saying it is like fishing with live bait. The same thing would be feed bass for an extended period of time at your dock (ex. throwing 200 shad in a dock slip every day) and have a large school coming in every time you started to feed then one day all of a sudden throwing a drop net on them and gets a mess full and saying you caught them. Pretty much takes the sport out of it IMO. Didn't say it wasn't legal in some states...I for one just think it is lame to do that.

If only it were that easy.

Been hunting a particular deer for a few years now, he is on the downhill slide on the horns part due to age. I've tried just about every means possible when it comes to killing him shy of shining a light.

If I am lucky enough to save him from dieing in the hollar from old age with a projectile , I will say, having a corn pile has been of very little use in attempting to kill this deer. Can a fella kill a doe sitting over a corn pile, you bet.

Is it cheating, I guess you will have to decide.

I do really enjoy seeing everyones opinions on right and wrong though.

If you kill it and feed your family then you did it right.

If you kill it and feed the buzzards you did it wrong.

If killing it cost you more than a freezer full of meat and veggies bought from the store...... ? That's a tough one there.

Well some folks are just hunters to the heart, and would have to disagree on that one.

wLots of stuff to hunt around here that are more challenging than whitetails.... if food isn't a prime consideration.
