BilletHead Posted November 16, 2014 Author Posted November 16, 2014 Never tried that Chief but I would like to try, I went ahead and put a reflector and a sixty watt bulb in there. Put it in the end third with the best growers I have in there. Now they say 13 tonight. It's getting more pricy by the day but that fresh salad with grilled deer loins and pickled hen of the woods mushroom and peppers sure was good. Wayne SW/MO Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 What I call a temperature cube, what I picked up somewhere, is the outlet in/outlet out piece that many use in well houses to turn heat lamps on and off. The ones I've had are preset at 35 degrees. A.K.A. a cheap thermostat. I'm guessing at the two 100's, but that's where I would start probably. The 60 might work, but a couple of 100's would pull less than 2 amps. They won't likely effect the ground, but the heat generated and held above the bed should allow the bed to lose less residual. You don't want heat lamps because they only heat by infra red. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
lee G. Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 My bad, if i said heat lamp, that was a mis statement, I had a 100 watt bulb in my hay bail setup, it was just the size of a glass slider, smaller than BilletHeads.
BilletHead Posted November 17, 2014 Author Posted November 17, 2014 I knew what you were getting at Lee. 15 last night and calling for 8 tonight. Not going to mess any with it until it warms up towards the end of the week and then take a peek. As Lee said it is a pretty big patch and Wayne yes should be two larger lights in there but I did not prepare. I know one thing. We sleep on the screened porch during the winter, yes you heard right outside. Mattress warmer and electric blanket. Tonight's single digits will run us inside for one night. Well with the snow on, reflection and refraction from the light made a neat glow on the flag pole. With the stars too it was really neat. Coyotes howling were icing on the cake. For those of you that believe I shoot them on sight isn't true. Truth be known I should have a light on that flag at night. Got to figure that one out, BilletHead "We have met the enemy and it is us", Pogo If you compete with your fellow anglers, you become their competitor, If you help them you become their friend" Lefty Kreh " Never display your knowledge, you only share it" Lefty Kreh "Eat more bass and there will be more room for walleye to grow!" fishinwrench Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 I've heard folks say that the world was going' to the dogs, but I thought it was just a figure of speech. Dogs upside down cuddling with their own cats.... Dogs in the house and humans sleeping on the porch... Maybe it's time they started voting, don't ya think ? Milk Bones in the offering plate at church? Dobermans and Shepherds in the courtrooms.... I'm for an all Dog government!
Flysmallie Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 Maybe it's time they started voting, don't ya think ? Can't be any worse than 99.99999% of the people voting.
BilletHead Posted November 18, 2014 Author Posted November 18, 2014 Oh no she sleeps in the bag with her head covered up all night. When the alarm goes off she wiggles out and pounces on the bed to make sure we get up. There is no snooze allowed.
