Troutnut69 Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 Joe and I got out this past weekend for a little r&r on one of our favorite rivers. The weather was just fabulous and from the way the forecast is looking I might have enjoyed the last 65 degree day for awhile around here. The fishing was just average , I caught fish in all of the usual spots just nothing of any size. Managed one small brown and everything else was just stocker bows for the weekend. In all honesty I probably could have caught more fish if I'd worked at it a little harder , but I went fishing to get away from that four letter word...work. As usual , we had a great time regardless of the numbers or size of fish caught. Full TR on my blog... http://highplainsflyfisher.blogspot.com/
trapshot25 Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 Great write up troutnut what campground do you use over there?
Ham Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 That's a fantastic photo! The trip was worth it for that alone. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
oneshot Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 Some don't see this river same as I do. Me and my wife were reborn here and it will be my final resting place. oneshot
Troutnut69 Posted November 13, 2014 Author Posted November 13, 2014 Trapshot25 - I was staying at NRO on this trip. Thanks Ham , I liked that one as well. Small fish but he made a cool picture. I love the river myself Oneshot , just wish it wasn't such a Jekyl and Hyde situation depending on the time of year.
fishinwrench Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 To be fair..."the river" isn't. Just a 8-10 mile stretch of it is... It's a fairly long river

rumrunner Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 i agree it's not all about the catching.i've been enjoying that stretch all year.
brittsnbirds Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Thanks for the blog. Looks like Joe ate pretty good. You might have him try Moose Drool, Big Sky Brewery in Missoula Mt. It's a dark brown unit that I dearly love. Great for setting around the fire after a day on the water!! What was the big ticket fly on the river for you?? I feel the itch to get down as well.
