Winter And The Hair Jig By Ned Kehde

It is 10:53 a.m. on Nov.15, and it is snowing in northeastern Kansas. I haven’t made a cast since 3:45 p.m. on Nov. 10, and that is because Mother Nature allowed Old Man Winter to perform his ways upon the anglers and the waterways hereabouts during the past four days.

I fished pretty much those exact marabou jigs except with a regular zinkerz trailer and it was very productive in some of the small ponds i fished this year.

I was shocked at the size of some of the Bass I caught with it.

I've tried to tell people how effective a Zig Jig was for cool to cold water bass. I haven't added a trailer to it, but that aint hard.

I guess the one question I would ask Ned first would be how cold does the water have to be before the Ned Rig quits working?. I'll do a little experimenting on my own this fall/early winter.

I would not toss the Ned under the bus yet but what was presented looks a lot like another good winter jig.
