Fishingmill Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 Not sure if anyone has posted about this yet. This is an interesting documentary about the removal of dams and their impact on the salmon populations. It's on Netflix. http://damnationfilm.com/ instagram.com/fishingmill twitter.com/Fishingmill vimeo.com/fishingmill
jdmidwest Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 If they remove them in MO and Ark, it would remove alot of trout fishing and restore some premium smallmouth water. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson

5bites Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 Me too! I wouldn't reverse it but if like to go back in time and see it and the way the locals used it.
fishinwrench Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 I would think that a dam removed would cause the river to completely fill in with silt and gravel from the old bare lake bed. I guess eventually it would flush out and grass and trees would start to grow but those stretches, or the ones below them wouldn't be anything special to spend time on for quite a while.
oneshot Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 Interesting use to have fun fishing in the Sac and Osage before Stockton and Truman Dams. oneshot
Quillback Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 If they took the White river dams out, then the river would be full of drunken partiers, jet boats and giggers and we'd all be on here complaining about them.
Dylan Cluver Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 We talked about the removal of powersite dam in another forum. Removal of the other White River dams will for sure never happen during our lifetime. No one gripes about obese fish.
