dtrs5kprs Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 It's rather nice that you can fish the inside bend and the outside bend without starting the big motor. Many of you have not fished up here. We actaully have more LM than spots. What we do not have as many of are the brown fish. I may joke about the carp water, but I assure you that within 6 river miles each direction from Eagle Rock there are a multitude of big fish (bass and walleye) locations. Now watch. Because I have said that, the weather will plan so that the big fish is the only fish that measures 15 inches. Well, I have been known to spend some quality time upriver from Viola. Will make you feel pretty smart on the right day. Might be another little spot or two up the White worth looking at.
powerdive Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 I'd probably show up and do some walleye fishing.............. And anytime rps is doing food, I try to be there.
fishingaddiction Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 Do they make maps for that part of the lake? Born to Fish. Forced to Work.
Sore Thumbs Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 Have a biggest walleye contest along with it.

Not a fish left up there over 2 pounds and you can fish for days without a bite. I would suggest that all OAFers avoid this area like the plague and to do the entire fishing community a service by passing along this devastating news. We now rejoin our regular programming in progress.

Quillback Posted December 20, 2014 Author Posted December 20, 2014 Have a biggest walleye contest along with it. I suppose we could do that, but we'll be using typical bass tournament rules - no bait, no trolling, and in addition no A-rig (multi-arm lures).
J-Doc Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 I suppose we could do that, but we'll be using typical bass tournament rules - no bait, no trolling, and in addition no A-rig (multi-arm lures). Keep in mind guys, walleye do not keep in a live well for catch and release. They expire rather quickly and unlike bass, they are much harder to release. So unless it's of legal size (18"min), don't keep it unless you plan on cooking it for dinner. Quickly release it vs trying to take bragging rights. It take 6-7yrs to grow a walleye to legal size or better typically. So a nice keeper walleye would grandfather a largemouth in age. And I have recipes if you need one. :-) Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!
Sore Thumbs Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 I'm sure i will catch a walleye since I'm fishing for bass. ?
Quillback Posted December 21, 2014 Author Posted December 21, 2014 I'm sure i will catch a walleye since I'm fishing for bass. That's always been my walleye fishing strategy.
