Fish24/7 Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 WT 45- 46 654 cloudy and rain First trip of the New Year! Spent just a few hours on the pond yesterday. Weather stunk but the bite was pretty good. Threw my favorite lure when it's cold 1/2 oz fb jig. Bites came in 18-22 fow and were so light you just lost feel of the bait. Had maybe 9 bites ,caught 7, and they were all like this one. Was able to get a pic of one in between rain drops. All were put back. http://i1289.photobucket.com/albums/b512/wakywurms/1215bass1_zps1c298f59.jpg Quillback 1

Fish24/7 Posted January 3, 2015 Author Posted January 3, 2015 it's fairly clear ,visibility was 7-8' w/o sun. Largemouth bass usually look pale when you catch them deeper than 15' and on the bottom in winter

Fish24/7 Posted January 3, 2015 Author Posted January 3, 2015 just took a drive around spring creek, theodosia, pontiac ,big creek areas. ALL the little creeks are pretty much bank full now. Lots of fresh water coming in in the backs now.
Ham Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 do you think the fish might move up into that fresh water and feed a little bit? Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Fish24/7 Posted January 3, 2015 Author Posted January 3, 2015 probably some will, if the lake level comes up a couple feet I'd look for whites, they like rising water and tend to gravitate to the source of it. A couple weeks ago there were still some whites in the backs of major creeks so those fish will probably enjoy a fresh drink if they are still around. The runoff was not very muddy so that's a plus
moguy1973 Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 I read the title of this thread and thought I'd see a picture of half a bass....lol -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
mixermarkb Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 Wish I could get down, but with a 2 week old baby boy and a wife recovering from an emergency C section, it's gonna be a while til I go fishing... My last trip sucked anyway lol
