Cool trick. May play around with that some. Ron Shuffield of BASS tournament fame used to weight Shad Raps somehow and kicked our butts on them in winter derbies down in central Arkansas.

I use the cylinder-type drop shot weights, and the shortest I can find. Also, I'll make sure that the treble is affixed in such a manner that one of the hooks faces straight out from the body. This makes lines the hook up (in relatio. To the body) where one hook is lined up with o ne side, another lined up with the other side, and third hook lined up with the bill. This, in my experience, is what allow the weight to be relatively a no factor. The weight slaps the body, but is between the hooks that are straddling the body.

I sure hope this makes sense.

Have to ask,,,why not just add dots to it, or a lead wrapped hook like on a stick?

Yeah I was thinking about that also, the lead wrap part that is. Going to have to play around with it a bit. If I can ever put the Ned down. :D

That is the hard part. Just ask Ham.

One small drop shot weight is equal to a whole bunch of suspend dots.

According to the description it has a "Distinct Knocking Fish Calling Sound". I don't have one to check out.

TW is sold out of all colors except Mudbug. Poor little Mudbug, nobody likes him..

There are rattles but they are not overly loud. This is something Mike was very particular about when designing the bait.

Maybe he can go to the island of misfit baits with all the crawdad color topwaters...

Sort of looks like mud bug is their version of brown craw. Have not seen a good pic of it yet, looks different in about every one I have seen.
