MOsmallies Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 Are they all silent? Didn't hear any rattle when I shook the package. Here's a quote from McClelland... The sound of the RC55 is inconsistent. There is a time and place for rattling baits but the Rk55 will run silent but also have a subtle rattle due to a tungsten ball inside it. I really like that mixture of sound patterns.
5bites Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 Maybe he can go to the island of misfit baits with all the crawdad color topwaters... Lol! I ordered a couple but I don't remember the color. I'm not overly impressed with the colors in the online pics but we'll see when they show.

The green looks like a decent V63, there is a decent V38, red looks good. The phantom brown is very close to a color I like to paint. Would have liked the olive craw from the fat papa line.
dtrs5kprs Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 Color...should add that the red craw is a phantom color. Or at least mine is. Not a lot different than the brown phantom. For my taste the phantoms could use another accent color...orange, purple, etc. None of mine seem to make any knock or rattle. Maybe they are tired from the trip to KS.

I've tried getting orange to show up on a phantom type color, but have the hardest time doing so...
dtrs5kprs Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 You have to use an opaque orange, or blend your transparent orange with an opaque color or opacity additive. I was just thinking of a touch at the tips, or some dots. jolicious 1

I just got a couple, and you are right, the red is more of a phantom color - picture is kind of deceiving. If I shake it sideways, I can get a bit of a rattle, maybe that's a good thing, subtle rattle instead of a loud rattle like a lot of cranks have.

In the pics it looks more opaque like the green craw. Looks a little like a stretched out wart with some bomber 7a added. If it digs and bumps the rattle may be irrelevant. Have a roast in the oven and the Ducks tonight. Will try to shoot some comparison pics with the spro and the other wart type baits.
dtrs5kprs Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 I always appreciate ideas / teachings! Thanks!! It still won't be bright, but it should be visible. Kind of a natural rusty orange.
