dtrs5kprs Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 Some photos showing the Spro Rock Crawler with Wiggle Warts, Koppers HFC, etc., for comparison. The Spro bait is definitely bigger with a slightly different shape. Left Row, Top to Bottom = generic wart body, Brad's Wiggler, New/Current production Wart, Pre-Rap Wart. Middle, Top to Bottom = Pre-Rap Mag Wart, Kopper's HFC, Spro Rock Crawler Right = New/Current production Mag Wart Top view Belly view All in all the new bait is sort of a stretched out wiggle wart that fits somewhere between the regular size and the mag wart. I did not put calipers on it, but the lip looks to be more or less just scaled up to fit the larger body. In profile there is something about it that smacks of a 7A Bomber.
Ham Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 How do you like the Koppers HFC? Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
dtrs5kprs Posted January 14, 2015 Author Posted January 14, 2015 How do you like the Koppers HFC? As well as any other crankbait. None of them will catch as many fish as the little deal. In all seriousness, the Koppers reminds me a lot of the wart, very close except for the sculpted body. Closest after the Brad's and generics.
motoman Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 Good stuff Dave; thanks for the pix. It'll be interesting to see how it performs in comparison to the wart.

dtrs5kprs Posted January 15, 2015 Author Posted January 15, 2015 Why am I NOT shocked you have a Bass Mafia box? Christmas presents from 2013. Have not figured out what to do with the regular depth box yet. Heavy. Seemed like a no brainer for warts though.
Ham Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 My wife gave up on giving me fishing related gifts years and years ago. She says that I have everything already. IF the Bass Mafia stuff really protects your baits better, I can see why you would put the pre rap stuff in there. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish

IF the Bass Mafia stuff really protects your baits better, I can see why you would put the pre rap stuff in there. They still bang around, but they store nicely by pairs if you use all the dividers. One up, one down, if that makes sense. I used it for warts because of the durability, lack of UV penetration and/or sunlight causing baits to explode, and because it floats if it goes swimming (at least while closed). They are very heavy compared to Plano boxes. Quick way to lose 5mph if you loaded the boat full of them. Don't crank a ton anymore, but I would rather stand on the bow and just throw c-notes in the lake than watch my wart box sink. Not even sure I can throw one anymore. Also makes it easy to see and pull out of the hatch so it can spend nights under the watchful eyes of both Smith and Wesson. Kind of wish the Spro rattled more. May have to work on that.
Ham Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 You know Dave, you could pay for one of those kids college IF you sold all the pre-rap Warts. Not kidding a bit Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
