You already threw a full-Nelson on me and had me pinned.

I remember coming into the marina at Broken Bow in the early 70's. The weigh in for a club style tournament was in progress. Everyone was having fun. What was old is new again.

Love Broken Bow. I have a very good friend who guides there.

Good deal if we don't have to trailer over. My boat sits on a lift in the upper Kings....I'd have to take it off, load it on the trailer and tow it over; then repeat when it's over. Don't think my wife and I are a threat to win anyway :have-a-nice-day: We are more interested in meeting the members after the event. I/we would also like to contribute if we can to the cookout, if someone would let us know what we could do!!!

Thanks for the offer of help Larry - If you want to bring some food you are certainly welcome to do so, but it is not mandatory or expected. We might need another card table or similar type table, rps is bringing one, but I'm thinking we may need at least two, if you or anyone else has one you'd like to bring.

We can do both............Just PM us before the day and let us know what we can do!

QB, you're probably gonna kill me for bringing this up but my personal feelings are that we should not allow the A-rig in the OAF derby. Frankly, there's plenty of evidence that it creates an unlevel playing field that is tilted in favor of those using the A-rig. By nature, this is a learning forum and there are a lot of novice anglers here who do not own A-rigs and have neither the knowledge or equipment to use them if they did.

This is a small, friendly bragging rights/trophy-only tournament --- let's give everyone a fair chance to win.

If the a-rig is not allowed then that is okay and I certainly wouldn't or don't have a problem with that decision. But come on Champ, to say it creates an "unlevel playing field" is simply not the case. Everyone has the same opportunity as the next person to go buy one. I don't live on a lake. In fact, I live approximately 3 hours from the closest lake. Thus not giving me as much experience as those who are so fortunate to use them more frequently than I. However, since fishing is a passion of mine I choose to research tips and techniques of new tackle. I read magazines, watch you tube or join forums. Everyone has the same opportunity to exercise this privilege. If it was that only certain people were going to be able to use them, and others fishing the same tournament were not...then yes, that creates the "unlevel playing field" you mentioned. I am all for not allowing the a-rig as it doesn't take an avid fisherman using them to catch fish. Even the most unexperienced, as long as you can cast them, should be able to catch fish with it. Again I don't have a problem with getting to use it or not. Thanks guys. Good luck to everyone it should be a great time.
