OldMillRoad Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 We were all over the place today, 10 fish total with 5 keepers. Caught them on everything, spoon, jerker, Shakey head, a-rig, and the varmint. 80 feet to 15 feet. My son caught a dang rainbow up by Big Creek on a jerker. Crazy. Quillback 1
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted February 1, 2015 Root Admin Posted February 1, 2015 Man that's a beautiful rainbow. Can you imagine if rainbows took off on the Rock... may be MDC should stock them!!!! Can I repost this?
OldMillRoad Posted February 1, 2015 Author Posted February 1, 2015 Absolutely Phil. It came up and flashed pink, thought it might be drum at first. It got closer to the boat and I was astonished. Probably 6 or 7 lbs.

Alex Heitman Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 Dandy trout there! I've caught two in the lake but never anything that big. OldMillRoad 1
dtrs5kprs Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 Pretty nice slick fish. Just me or does that seem to be happening more often?
fishingaddiction Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 Pretty nice slick fish. Just me or does that seem to be happening more often? I caught a 16" rainbow several months ago on a square bill. Talked with a guy last year that had caught several rainbows in the James River trolling a flicker shad. Apparently there are more trout in the lake than we think. Born to Fish. Forced to Work.
