Codywskeeter1521 Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 Finally get to go on a guided fishing trip with pete. I won a 4 hour trip though my work. I am able to bring a friend and there's no one I would rather bring then my dad. We both are looking forward to learning and catching some fish with the best guide on table rock. Champ188 and JRD 2
Champ188 Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 You'll enjoy that greatly, Cody. Fished Central Pro-Am against Pete for several years and enjoyed getting to know him. Good guy and a great fisherman/guide. Hope you guys knock em dead.
Codywskeeter1521 Posted February 5, 2015 Author Posted February 5, 2015 Champ, I'm really looking forward to it. I've watched every fishing report for ever and always wanted to go and learn. I figure I'll learn more in 4 hours with him then I can by myself In years.
Champ188 Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 Exactly right there, Cody. I do not guide currently so I'm speaking objectively when I say that I don't understand why more people don't save themselves hundreds of fishless hours and hire one of the expert guides around here for 4, 6 or 8 hours. The amount of time, money and frustration they would SAVE over time would make it one of the best fishing investments they ever made.

Hiring a guide will exponentially save loads of time, headache, frustration and wasted money. Too many people think short term of the cost of hiring a guide; and don't consider the knowledge you gain by hiring one, that will be with you every return trip you make. Quillback and Champ188 2
Longball22 Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 I went out with Pete last spring, and it was a great experience. You will definitely have a good time, and learn a lot. I have gone out with a few guides on TR, and Pete certainly seems to be one who isn't afraid to change tactics and figure out what is working best that day. Champ188 1
Codywskeeter1521 Posted February 6, 2015 Author Posted February 6, 2015 Longball, I've always watched his fishing reports and check his website for local tournys. But I won a 4 hour trip though my work. But had plans on booking soon anyways. 888-214-1767 is the number I callEd. I guess I talked to his wife she was very nice and helpful.
abkeenan Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 Congrats Cody. My wife was nice enough to buy me a 4 hour guided trip with none other than our own Bill Babler for my birthday last year. We are going in May this and I'm pumped about it. Can't wait to get his autograph Guy has probably forgotten more about fishing the Rock than I currently know.

Wife and I always hire a guide on TR for the first day we are there to get us pointed in the right direction for the rest of our trip. It is the best money we will ever spend each time!! We have been with Pete and Bill and they were both fantastic! We have Phil Stone booked for this year. Our thinking is that for the first few years we will hire a different guide each year so we learn different ideas/techniques for TR. We will then probably stick with one or two after that and then just alternate each year between them. Anyone who is coming to TR with little or no experience with the lake; do yourself a HUGE favor and hire one of the guides!! Congrats Codywskeeter1521 on winning a trip. Hope ( I know you will) you have a great time!!
