Random Thoughts On The Ned, Turd, Varmint, Stupid Rig, Etc

I left a Zinker chunk sitting on top of a Zoom plastic as an experiment. The Zinker seemed to suck the moisture out of the Zoom bait leaving it dry, deformed, and lifeless. They are definitely plastic killers, leave them separate.

Any one do any night fishing with the Ned? I was looking at the black/blue laminate and thinking that may work nights.

So the Alabama craw is more of an orange? Wish they had a pumpkin similar to Zoom's pumpkin color.

I'm going with two boxes for ned - one with just heads, scissors and glue and one with the plastics. I like to leave the plastics in the store packaging in the box until I actually make up the jig.

Which is better? The cut ZinkerZ or the Finesse TRD? Besides the ZinkerZ be about 12.5 cents per bait cheaper.

better get both, trust me

I think it would hammer brown fish at night. Same size as the good old fly and rind or the booza bug.

Bama craw is pumpkin/orange, but has the same orange issue. Might look at dirt, it reminds me of a straight pumpkin.

Exactly right. Just keep things separate and organized and you should be fine. Keep them tucked inside storage compartments and out of direct sun when possible. Really a good idea with regular plastics anyway.

They work, but I am sort of with you. They need to be tremendously better before I bother with them. I can see using them if you need to swim it, because they will float and fall differently. Other than that, I am hard pressed to put the cut stick down. Had a very similar exchange about the ShadZ and other baits with Ned recently.

rigged a certain way the TRD will outfish the zinker z, those suspended fish just gobble it up

I think I've said too much already haha

somebody will figure this out eventually

yes, a bunch, and it works, stick with the same colors you use during the day, they work just fine in the dark

bama bug is a very good color at night

My thoughts are to fish the Ned even better than last year and experiment with every color imaginable and different colors of heads. I think my Ned box is ready! :secret-laugh: Bad news is....while all you guys were whacking em last week on the Ned I got on a A-rig bite that was too much fun and I couldn't pick my Ned rod up though it was laying on the deck rigged and ready.....LOL

what? no TRD's ??

I'm all for cutting the Zinkers or the Zeroes. Not too hep on the TRD's after looking at them in-person the other day.

can't judge a book by it's cover dude

once people are willing to try the TRD, they will find out why it's called "the real deal"

with the help of a friend we made an underwater lake video fishing the zinker z and the trd on a jig head, they are different as day and night.

Not only does the TRD shine on a finesse jig head, I've figured out 5 diff. ways to rig one and catch fish on it..

Yep. It is the texture and salt content. Supposedly the TRD is actually made of a sightly different formulation of elaztech, to make it fish the way it does.

Just waiting to find out if it is better than the Zinkerz. Know it is different. Lord help us if it is better...will be a lot of sore elbows and wrists.
