Members jimalert3 Posted February 10, 2015 Members Posted February 10, 2015 I feel abit said about things that are happing in my country and especialy in my town where I was borned and grew up. Especialy with bass pro where I worked , after I retired. Yousee I am 90 this year and I thing I have seen alot, so when I go to bass pro to enjoy what could be one of my last ones and it turns out to be the worst one they have had, it's sad. I was working at there first one and I'v been to almost all of them I've never met Johnney but frome what I'seen and read I think he is a good guy and has done a lot for our community, but things don't seem the say there or in my town. I guess I'm just getting old. Thanks for letting me spout off

dtrs5kprs Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 The old events were special in part because it was just the one store. I remember driving down from Iowa and spending a couple of days in Springfield to go to it. Sales, seminars, etc. Now it is just a sale at best.
Terrierman Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Yeah in the old days when it was just that store it was a regular destination. Nobody drove by Springfield without going to Bass Pro. That place still jumps and the décor to me is amazing. And about Johnny Morris. I've done a lot of work for them and see how he treats people. Keeps his word, and I admire that.

GREENTRITON Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 I miss the old days of the BPS classic. Just one store back then, was a big deal. All the Pros in town and lots of sales. Midnight madness where they tossed gift cards off the balcony at midnight. With lots of stores open now it has changed. I used to spend three days going over every bind they had out. 30 min only now....GOOD FISHING..
