Quillback Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Had to get out one more day with this nice weather. Fishing was decent, fish again being concentrated in a few spots. Found some in a couple of coves, maybe a 1/3 of the way back, where the cove split at a point. What I would think of as being pre-spawn spots, but of course it seems a bit early for that, however that's where they were. Deep, 20 feet, near trees in coves on those first points. Had to be a point with deep water nearby and rocky. Mostly largemouth back in the coves, caught a few spots out on a rocky point at a cove entrance off a steep drop off. Got them (the spots) vertically fishing the Ned. Saw some shad down about 30-35 feet on the finder, dropped the Ned to the bottom, brought it just off the bottom and shook it. Picked up 3 bass doing that today. Caught 13 total, maybe 4 keepers. And one short walleye. Water temps 42-43.

Ham Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 I swear it looks like you're catching the same fish over and over and over. Have you gotten them all named yet. Glad you're getting out and catching them. We have some cooler weather coming. I expect you'll take a break about then. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Quillback Posted February 11, 2015 Author Posted February 11, 2015 Yeah, quite a few cookie cutter 2-3 lb. LM's in the lake this year. I can usually manage one or two a day. Hopefully they'll survive well and we'll see a good class of 4-5 lb. fish in a year or two. Hate to see that cool down coming, it will probably limit my fishing time, but may make some short trips to the Bella Vista lakes. Ham 1
fishingaddiction Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Fishing the little rig strait down. There is no end to the ways the Ned will catch them. Looking forward to all the cookie cutters getting big and fat. Ham 1 Born to Fish. Forced to Work.
