rps Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 I knew we would have a closet ketchup on eggs guy! How is the smell coming from your kitchen right now RPS ? I can just imagine. Nothing better than bacon fat, well maybe some goose fat. If you were bit closer I could fix you up with some of that goodness. Think the Mrs. and doctor would approve of that? Seared and into a 275 oven for 60 to 70 minutes. The extras you see are shallots, garlic and rosemary that wind up flavoring the pan gravy. It smells so good I almost want to snack while I wait. Terrierman Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 Lovey and I are going to grill a couple of hamburgers and some eggplant. If you've never topped a burger with a slice of eggplant, you have yet to live life to it's fullest. Got a head of local hydroponic grown butter crunch lettuce, a bag of arugula, a bag of watercress and a bag of mixed sprouts yesterday at the Farmer's Market. Salad baby! Salad! BilletHead and rps 2
ness Posted March 29, 2015 Author Posted March 29, 2015 I gotta admit -- I never heard the term brown beans until I read it on OAF. I Googled, and it's pinto beans, right? That may be a regional thing. I always use navy or great northern beans when making ham and beans. Chili gets kidney, or light kidney. Baked beans of course. I've seen pinto beans on the menu a few times, but I don't recall brown. Only other time I see pintos is in refried beans. John

Phil -- we need an unlike button I just can't see that one. If I dropped some jelly on my eggs by accident, I'm pretty sure I'd scoot that part over to the side. John
BilletHead Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 I am still trying to imagine the smell of your dish RPS. No matter how close I get my nose to this screen my plugged up nose and sinus won't let me smell. Oh by the way dessert of my cheap meal was some decaf coffee and some warm dump cake right out of the oven. Life is good here even with a head cold. Chili for me nearly always gets a bean medley. Pinto, Great Northern, Kidney, sometimes White Kidney, sometimes Butter Beans, sometimes Blackeyed Peas (one of my most favoritest beans evar!) sometimes when I'm feeling really wild a can of chickpeas. Chili is always so much fun.
