Seared and into a 275 oven for 60 to 70 minutes.

The extras you see are shallots, garlic and rosemary that wind up flavoring the pan gravy. It smells so good I almost want to snack while I wait.

Man, that pan sauce is gonna be nice. You need some mashed taters and corn to pour it over :D

Oh My Ness you have never had a bowl of brown beans? Fried taters go real good with that! And another thing. You have to have crispy bacon in the maple syrup with pancakes or waffles.

Yes, pinto beans are brown beans. Chili for me nearly always gets a bean medley. Pinto, Great Northern, Kidney, sometimes White Kidney, sometimes Butter Beans, sometimes Blackeyed Peas (one of my most favoritest beans evar!) sometimes when I'm feeling really wild a can of chickpeas. Chili is always so much fun.

I've got the 'black-eyed peas taste like dirt' gene. Also, the 'cilantro tastes like soap' one. You keep those two out of your chili and I'm all in, all the time. :D

Just 'pintos', not 'brown beans'. And, oh heck yeah -- I love bacon, and sausage, in the maple syrup. Not the eggs though!

Here's one: One of my favorite sandwiches is bacon or sausage on buttered toast with jelly.

Just gonna be a gas-grilled burger tonight. Probably do a can of drained Bush's plain baked beans with a little ketchup, yellow mustard and molasses. That's my quick-and-dirty 'BBQ' beans thing.

That's too bad. Both of those things are great flavors for me. Fresh blackeyed peas cooked with a little bacon, sugar and salt with sweet onion chopped on top and a piece of fresh hot cornbread makes me think nice things about my ex-wife's family. That good.

Black-eyed peas taste like dirt. I eat them anyways. Good with some jalapenos and bacon in them,

I ride bikes, sometimes hard. One of my favorite things for when you come back in worn plum out is to heat up a can of blackeyed peas, again with a little sugar and salt and butter cause there is no time for bacon. Recharge your electrolytes, get some protein, some fiber, enough fat to get some energy back right now and some gas, all out of one bowl. Heavenly.

I am still trying to imagine the smell of your dish RPS. No matter how close I get my nose to this screen my plugged up nose and sinus won't let me smell. Oh by the way dessert of my cheap meal was some decaf coffee and some warm dump cake right out of the oven. Life is good here even with a head cold.

BilletHead

I'm not a big dessert eater, but dump cake is great stuff!! I made an Irish Soda Bread a couple days ago. A little extra sugar, and loads of dried cranberries and currants. That's gonna be dessert tonight.

Here's an amazingly easy and good more or less light dessert cake: Box of angel food cake mix. Can of crushed pineapple. Mix them together - standby for foam. Bake in a 9x12 at 375 until brown on top about 40 minutes. Poor man's pineapple upside down cake. It really is good.
