Johnsfolly Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 BH - You have to wear the shame like an albatross around your neck and suffer scorn of future "cooking" posters. BilletHead 1
BilletHead Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 Thanks Ness, you too Johnsfolly, May be like wearing the scarlet letter I mean the scarlet post on my back. Don't know what was happening but it was like the site hung up so I disconnected and connected again. Then I seen what happened. rps Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 My wife and I watch movies after they come out on DVD. One of our favorites was "UP." If you have not seen it you should. The reason for the reference? A line in the movie ... "I do not like the cone of shame." Johnsfolly 1
rps Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 Tonight I am roasting a hash based upon the leftover flat iron steak from yesterday and we have left over horseradish coleslaw. Life is good. Johnsfolly and BilletHead 2
MOPanfisher Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 If someone brings home a bushel of ripe peaches I am going to be very sick. I can eat a lot, but don't know if I can eat a whole bushel of them, but would do my best. Many years ago I went to an orchard to pick oeaches, they told us not to put the over ripe ones in the neck basket, just throw them on the ground. I did the first couple that just fell into my hand, then I touch a bite of one. Every one after that I ate 4 or 5 big bites from before tossing it. I was a sick puppy, and learned what happens when you eat that many peaches. Never regretted a second of it BilletHead 1
Johnsfolly Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 I have probably eaten about 14 so far over the last couple of days. They are really good and super juicy. Starting to salivate just describing these peaches. Overeating them and getting sick is one of the reasons we try to can them as soon as possible. MoPanfisher I understand what you are talking about. We try to hand pick apples each year. You just have to try the fruit from several different trees before you go and fill that basket with the best tasting fruits. You end up eating several apples by the end of the day. We have learned to pace ourselves to not get sick. We have been doing that with our kids since my 20 year old was only 3 or 4 years old.
Johnsfolly Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 RPS - Love the cone of shame reference. With kids, I have seen many of the animated family films. My wife doesn't like watching that film much anymore because she cries a lot. I do agree that it is a good film.
MOPanfisher Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 I will admit that I kind of like some of the animated movies that I had to set through a few hundred times. And I like UP. But I can pace myself on the movies, but ripe peaches I have no willpower strong enough to resist them.
Johnsfolly Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 I ate another one after I came back in from walking the dog. The remaining ones likely won't last long. rps 1
