BilletHead
All righty then, Turkey again? Yep more timber chicken. Worked up part of a breast from the Mrs. bird. Breaded in Louisiana crispy fry batter mix. This is some good stuff. We even do our fish in it sometimes. Awesome. Had salad from the garden and some celery. I chose hot wing sauce and blue cheese dressing, the Mrs. Ranch and hot wing sauce as she has not converted to the blue cheese. That's OK it is her bird My tummy is so happy now. This was kind of like hooters except for the hooters and short, short part, BilletHead tho1mas and ness 2 "We have met the enemy and it is us", Pogo If you compete with your fellow anglers, you become their competitor, If you help them you become their friend" Lefty Kreh " Never display your knowledge, you only share it" Lefty Kreh "Eat more bass and there will be more room for walleye to grow!" ness
Tonight it was whipped pommes de terre with a chicken sauce capped with maize and baby scallions. AKA mashed taters, corn, gravy and some onions that didn't make it into the garden served in a dusty old wineglass we never use! Bone Apatite!! ness
Messing around this morning. I'd heard of German pancakes (a/k/a German or Dutch Baby) but had never had them. Got to digging around on the internet and found some recipes. The recipes didn't look too involved, so I thought I'd give one of them a shot. 3 eggs, ¾ cup milk, ¾ cup flour, ½ teaspoon cinnamon, ⅛ teaspoon vanilla and 4 tablespoons butter. Preheat oven to 425, the add butter to skillet and put in the oven for 5 minutes. Remove skilled, add batter and bake at 425 for 20 minutes. These are really good! They're kind of like a popover -- not at all like a regular pancake, but eggy. Puffy when you take them out of the oven, but deflate when you cut them. I figured I'd want maple syrup, but most of the recipes said confectioner's sugar so that's what I did. Added a little honey on the second slice I had. Good, easy and lighter than a pancake or French toast are. These are going into the rotation. BilletHead
Boy being gone I have missed some good looking food on here. Yes Ness we will do the sauce thing. Yes the legs, thighs and wing meat is good. Just have to cook it long to tenderize. Breast meat? Oh my still have some of that too. You may want to try it Two people and we don't cook a bunch at a time. Break it down and vacuum seal. Good to go when ready!
