And for dessert?

While making the raspberry jam after Mrs. BilletHead did her picking we had the ice cream maker going. This topped off the day, Homemade vanilla with raspberry jam topping,

Triple dang, BH.

I just got back from a long weekend in Chicago and WI with my sister, nieces their kids. Great pizza in Chicago; went to the Beer, Bacon and Cheese festival in New Glarus, WI. Lots of craft beers, cheeses, and unique uses of bacon. And tons of other foods too. Best weird thing was maple bacon ice cream. Tasted like butter pecan but instead of nuts there were crispy little pieces of bacon. Enjoyed trying the craft beers the best. Probably around 20 microbreweries there.

Back home tonight and made a big pot of vegetable soup to use up veggies before I go pick up my weekly delivery tomorrow. Cabbage, kale, turnip, kohlrabi, onion, broccoli. Broth is 50-50 V8 juice and chicken broth. A little red pepper to give it a little something. Really good. Substitute vegetables of your choice, stagger cooking times so everything's just right.

I've been gone for a bit. To reinsert myself in this thread I will give you a peek of the pot roast I prepared last night and put in the slow cooker today. Imagine the smells in the house.

Freshwater ceviche yesterday evening. Had it made and ready for the Mrs. BilletHead when she arrived home from her work day.

Brownie or should I say ceviche points for the BilletHead? For those of you that have not tried it you should,

Close RPS!

Pond largemouth Lancer. I had posted this last time I made it with crappie. I thought I would do it again. This is not citrus cured but quick not overdone cooked. Go to your closest Conservation office and get this book. Cooking Wild in Missouri. There are some great recipes in the book.
