Looks like rubber legs to me. I normally use spinnerbait skirts from the tackle shop(for the larger flies anyway) instead of buying the ones marketed for fly tying.

You are right Scott. I read legs as tails for some reason.

Yeah any "skirt" material will work. And the stuff marketed for jigs and spinnerbaits has a bigger range of colors.

does this tend to foul when you cast it?

Nope. Occasionally after a fish you have to straighten out the tail a bit but that's it.

I want to tie this fly. Can I get a complete list of materials? Is olive the best color? I fish the Castor, Jacks Fork, Black, and 11point.

You know I haven't thought about that in long time.

Every fish I catch on a fly rod are on my own flies.

I've tied my own flies since I was 10 years old or earlier.

I need to appreciate it more.
