merc1997 Bo Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Could you even pick a better Champion? what a super guy on his own pond. Of course I was rooting for Mike, but Casey was right in there. Said every fish he weighed was on the homemade spin head. Enough Said. Probably cost him a hundred grand to be truthful, but that is how he shot this deal. Got to respect that. Boys, he pretty much fished Table Rock the last 3 days. Very, very close to the same deal. Wonderful Classic bill, that was just what i was thinking also. he did a great job of staying up with those deep bass and came up with the right thing to trigger them into biting. you could sure tell they were sitting right on the bottom from the faded color of them also. bo
PHhunter Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 On the live broadcast they made a huge deal about the Blue Herring and the bass following them around make it hard to fish. Do Table Rock bass have similar habits with shad?
Guest Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Who knows maybe they want to parlay the homemade spin head into a fulltime business. Maybe there's an alternative to the Alabama to garter all. I know it's apples & oranges in terms of price per lure. Good for them. What did Ish have to say, i missed it?
Guest Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 So whose got the homemade underspins for sale?
Fish24/7 Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 I might part with some of mine Trophy. Pm sent
dtrs5kprs Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Wonder how long it will take for the Do It roadrunner or ultra minnow molds to sell out? Both would work for that. Maybe Do It will jump up and sponsor him.
Guest Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 I was thinking the road runner size would fit the 2" bobby garlands that I use for crappie. If you had a weed guard it might be a home run around fallen logs & boat docks.
Blazerman Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 it was really cool watching that live. i am sure they cut it off to get people to tune into the tv show when it runs. when i first saw what Ashley was using i thought he would pick up a lot of smaller fish but not enough to win. but i was wrong. he knew what he was doing. ended up culling enough to end up with 5- 4 pounders which was quite a sack with the conditions the way they were. and i agree it was great seeing the hometown kid win.
Champ188 Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Only thing I questioned Ashley on is what he questioned himself about -- why spend so many hours dragging that jig when it wasn't producing? I know he didn't want to beat on his spinhead fish too hard the first two days -- i.e., save some for Sunday -- but seems that being local he could have tried something else (docks?) with the jig bite being just nonexistent. Regardless, really glad it worked out for him. He worked his tail off and was justly rewarded.
