Justin92297 Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 In a few weeks I will be heading down to Springfield for a college visit at MO state. During this time my family is staying at stillwaters resort on Indian point so of course I will be fishing. I'm not sure how much lake access there is here or how well I can do from the bank but I will give it a try. Also I have heard they rent kayaks here but I don't know if that applies to late winter/early spring. If I could get some tips on fishing in this area that would be great. I'm mostly a bass fisherman but I love to catch anything. Thanks!
Bill Babler Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Justin, from the Marina, take a hike out just inside the heavy wake wall that keep waves from coming into the Marina. Start there and fish the bank all the way out to the main channel, it is about 3/4 of a mile, so a lot of nice fishing with the lake at this depth. Fish the Ned ie Varmint and swim a grub on a 1/4 in head and you will get bit. Take a couple of rods with you and also fish a Spro McStick in Blue Bandit, throwing the sticker as far as you can and then cranking and jerking it down. fish it back in a twitch-twitch-twitch 20 second pause method. Good Luck and you should have a fishing report. Justin92297 1 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
motoman Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 We stay at Stillwaters several times a year. Very nice family resort with plenty of lake access. Plenty of shore to fish from on either side of the resort. - Checkout google maps satellite view and you can see the cove that Stillwaters dock is in. Coming out of the dock on the right; heading back in that cove; there's a good variety of shoreline composition to fish. Pea gravel, chunk rock, small bluff rock, standing timber; all accessible from shore.

Push it out a bit further toward the main lake on some of that transition, and I bet you get bit. I do however love the location you mentioned, just a bit early Dewayne French 1 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com

Hunter53 Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Justin; if you have the time/extra money hire Bill to take you out for a day or half a day. It will be the best money you ever spent! Champ188 1
