Really hoping folks post the walleye migration report. Fishing it hard last year in the last week of March and just too early in 2014. Caught a few near the Holiday area, but hoping this year the timing is better. Please provide news if you hear of the walleye moving up the White. Thanks

Dave you might as well ask someone to leave their front door open and give you the key to the family safe. That has to be one of the most guarded bites around Bass anglers are jealous of how tight mouthed anglers are about it. If anyone gives a report they are moving up its already happened and they are sitting on a bluff wall watching the masses and laughing at them.

if anything, you were too late NOT too early. It happens much earlier than I would have guessed. I think that is a pay your dues deal which is a LOT easier if you live real close.

When i started fishing in Mo. in 1998, I had no clue as to what time of the spring to start fishing. I met a local guy filling up his boat at the gas station. I jokingly asked him when a good time to start fishing would be, and he smiled and said "Son, when you see boats being pulled to the lake, thats when their biting". As i pondered his comment that day, it made alot of sense.

So, the time to fish when their moving up, is to watch for more boats going down the roadway. The serious fishermen know when, and the more boats you start seeing, is when you best hook up and go...

Been to this rodeo a few times. Water has to move, days get longer and water warms. Fish will move when they want to but lots of river to fish and they don't all end up in the same place. I am too far away to see the boats, but totally agree as we fish below Truman here and boats mean fish are biting. Just looking for some reports - will be there regardless.

Hey Man,

I get it. I want to be in on that deal too, but most likely, I'm not willing to pay the iron price and suffer the expense and discomfort of a bunch of unproductive trips when I have limited time off. I tend to fish closer to home on trips that I know will be productive (says the guy that drove 2 hours each way to fish a total 5 hours earlier this week)..

So it sounds like if I do catch fish I should not post or share. Or as some do make up a story about where I caught fish to make others think I knew what was going on or to protect and keep my spot a secret. Good lord...what ever happened to good people sharing good days fishing? Makes me wonder if any fishing report is true.

Sometimes you just can't win for losing around here. No matter what you post, someone is going to complain.

Don't worry about it - if you want to post a report, go ahead. I would not give out exact locations if you get into some fish, but it's certainly no secret that there are walleye in the upper White river.

I only incidentally catch them while bass fishing, so I can't give you any advice, but one thing to keep in mind is that the AGFC always does their walleye brood stock netting on the upper Kings around March 15.
