navery Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 I want to apologize for my outburst the other day. It was not over the one comment made in this thread, but more over several condescending comments I have read from a few that just seem to ridicule people for what this site, I feel, is intended for. I did not mean to vent several months of frustration on one statement, it just seemed to have negative undertones as have some posts by others about possibly causing overcrowding due to a good fishing report. I do see both sides of the conversation, but don't think someone should be ridiculed for simply posting a fishing report or not posting anything for fear of ridicule. I hope we all can just get back to what we are all hopefully here for, talk and maybe some advice on something we all love, fishing. Bird Watcher 1
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 6, 2015 Root Admin Posted March 6, 2015 I have also seen a dramatic decline in fishing reports on this forum and I know it's because people don't want to get bashed for either keeping fish, naming spots, providing techniques or good lures that are working. I have always tried to let everyone have their say here as long as it's decent and respectful. In the 10 years this forum has been going, I've only had to "kick off" a couple of people. When you have a forum where literally thousands of people visit every day, you're going to have many views and temperaments. That's why I tend to bend the rules I bit and allow almost all comments, whether they're liked and not. But I will admonish members when I think they're out of line, most times with a private message. I have come to find out over the years MY words carry more weight than others and I have to be careful not to say some things in public, on the forum. I may have done just that in my previous post. I apologize. But I will say that negativity, especially when someone post a good report, will be met with comment, if not by me but by others - and I encourage that. We mustn't let the sue-sayers rule the roost. grizwilson 1
Members Casey Jeaux Posted March 7, 2015 Members Posted March 7, 2015 I've had to tell many people, by PM, that to be active on any public forum you have to have thick skin. The other thing I tell people - Ignore the people who post stupid stuff! Just act like they never said anything. You give them the power by acknowledging them. AMEN!
Sam Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Thought I'd post this picture I took a few miles from K Dock. Lots of water to yourself - even on a beautiful, calm day. That's what I like about Bull Shoals.
Bill Babler Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Beautiful Pic. thanks for posting. That just about sums up Bull Shoals. I can go over there even April, May and June and see just about the same sight. Lots of water and nothing else. Yes you get on the upper end during the White Bass run and you will have plenty of help. Always been this way from Powersite to Beaver Creek. Much below that and it gets pretty lonesome.
