Champ188 Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Mercers days are numbered, he is getting plain silly. Have you watched his fishing show FACTS OF FISHING? Everything is Dude or freak of nature. I know, Addiction. Donna and I can't get past the first 2 minutes without getting nauseated. I don't know what he's overcompensating for, but it's ridiculous. The man certainly doesn't lack for ego. Just wish the folks in charge of BASS had enough sense to realize that he turns off more people than he attracts with all of that BS. Quillback and fishingaddiction 2

Members ZX190Jones Posted March 10, 2015 Members Posted March 10, 2015 That's very true. It's shoulder to shoulder "mad house" on the weekend. I almost got trampled by Byron Velvik running to his booth. And that was on Friday. On Saturday, he would have needed a horn strobe and siren to attempt a jog much less a sprint like he was attempting the day before. It's the biggest boat and fishing expo I've ever been to. It's like a bass fisherman's Toys R Us. I can't belive any body would run to see him! Champ188 1
J-Doc Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 No I wasn't running. He almost ran into me. HE was trying to get back to his booth. I almost wanted Lysol to decontaminate myself. Lol Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!
ollie Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 ok, here's an obvious question. Why didn't this get posted on the Grand Lake Forum? Nobody hangs out there on that forum? "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!

That forum goes months without a post. Grand Lake fishermen -- and Grand bass anglers in particular -- don't share much info anywhere. They have tournaments over there that draw 300 boats (Nichols Team Trail is a good example). Those guys fish for a lot of money and their culture is to keep what they know to themselves. Can't really say I blame them considering the participation level and resulting payout of some of their tournaments. Just a different crowd from the Table Rock bunch.

I've met a few, good guys, but they keep it close. Champ188 1
