Members kazoobass Posted March 20, 2015 Author Members Posted March 20, 2015 I am on property too and called the marina and they said 8. I will be there a day or two early and bugging the heckler out of them. Maybe bribe a few people.
Members kazoobass Posted March 20, 2015 Author Members Posted March 20, 2015 Bass enforcer? Do you do that "DO nothing" while you are fishing something else? Or as your primary?
Members kazoobass Posted March 20, 2015 Author Members Posted March 20, 2015 Wish they would just do overnight rentals. I will post how I do on my trip for sure. If I don't catch anything my phone is full of 5 lbers I will just photo shop my self onto table rock...
fishingaddiction Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 You have received a ton of ammunition in this thread that is all good. You can power fish in the right situations. Need some wind and possibly water with a little color, use the swing head with a baby or regular brush hog, tube, or any of your favorite creature plastics. Keep it moving just off the bottom. Depending on water temp at times the topwater bite is good in April. Most put the suspending jerk baits up as the water temps increase, but they can be a killer on bass that are up shallow for the spawn. If the water continues to rise and floods the bushes, you could break out the flipping stick. Hope you catch them and have a great trip. Sac River Jim, Quillback and mike375 3 Born to Fish. dtrs5kprs Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Bass enforcer? Do you do that "DO nothing" while you are fishing something else? Or as your primary? That is the primary. That or something else slow. It is just a variety of a split shot, mojo rig, light Carolina rig. The fish doctor is the deal for that. As Tim noted, power fishing takes wind, color, or both. Just a tough lake for that. Honestly wind is sometimes necessary for the little plastic bite too. Wind enough for a stick or wart is not the same as wind enough for a blade. Quillback and kazoobass 2
Members kazoobass Posted March 20, 2015 Author Members Posted March 20, 2015 I will have my flipping stick in the boat for sure. I could do that all day. Can I gey away with using a florucarbon leader on my 50 lb braid for jigs?
Members kazoobass Posted March 20, 2015 Author Members Posted March 20, 2015 I get it about the wind. I can slow down and I am ok fishing for 5 bites. I feel like I can throw a jig or grub in the trees all day if I have to. I will fish the ned rig too. We can't fish predator fish in Michigan until the end of April so I am still rigging up my poles and boat. So I can throw florucarbon on everything if I need to. I will have a couple rods rigged with 6 lb floru for sure. I take it I should bring more spinning gear than baitcasters?
Members kazoobass Posted March 20, 2015 Author Members Posted March 20, 2015 Sounds like the ned rig down there is like a wacky rig senko up here. When it gets tough you can catch fish. It drives me nuts but you have to when u get blue bird skies and no wind In the summer.
Members kazoobass Posted March 20, 2015 Author Members Posted March 20, 2015 dumb question do you take the swivel of the wiggle warts? I just got 12 brand new crawdad type colors
abkeenan Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 dumb question do you take the swivel of the wiggle warts? I just got 12 brand new crawdad type colors Kazoo, I wouldn't take off the snap lock. They run fine as is. Might have to tweak the line tie if they run funky but that would be all you need to do with them. If you are anal, like most of us are here about wiggle warts, you can upgrade the hooks. Other than that tie it on and start crankin'.
