Members kazoobass Posted April 2, 2015 Author Members Posted April 2, 2015 Good advice champ. I am confident with several of the techniques that have been mentioned and the red fin is not one of them. I appreciate the help. Slowing down will always be in my head and it will probably take me the whole trip to learn the ned.lol... cranks, jigs, shaky head and I have to throw a double willow if I get a shot and a spook (I like my spooks). Everything else will not likely see the water.
Members kazoobass Posted April 2, 2015 Author Members Posted April 2, 2015 Unless... I can't catch anything. Then look out... I could be using the a rig mentioned in the other thread with the crazy stuff on it.
Members kazoobass Posted April 2, 2015 Author Members Posted April 2, 2015 Champ have you seen the new rapala waking bait? Think it's about 5 1/2 inches. I picked up a couple. Might not use them down there but I got a couple perch imitators for when I get back home.
Champ188 Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 I've not seen one yet, kazoo, but have heard good preliminary reports.Bet they'll catch em.
mixermarkb Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 If the Smallies are going, it will take you all of 10 minutes to learn the Ned... dtrs5kprs and Daryk Campbell Sr 2
edyer Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 With the water warming up, The fluke bite should be happening along with Zoom lizard. Watermelon/red or cotton candy catch a lot of fish. I have been hearing the spinner bait is happening also.
Members kazoobass Posted April 4, 2015 Author Members Posted April 4, 2015 So how are these possible storms at hot weather going to effect the bite? Will this push them up shallower south of the dam? I like the wind forecast 10 - 15 out of the south tue Wed Thu.
Members kazoobass Posted April 4, 2015 Author Members Posted April 4, 2015 Do you guys fish the fluke weightless or with a weighted ewg?
Alex Heitman Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Kazoobass I throw the fluke weightless with ewg and a swivel about 15 inches above. Adds a little weight and good action.
Members kazoobass Posted April 4, 2015 Author Members Posted April 4, 2015 Thanks. That is what I do up here in deeper areas.
