I don't think anyone is dumping on it, it is just hard for some to fathom its awesomeness due to the fact that they've tried similar stuff in the past with blah results.

After seeing the video of the thing in a swimming pool I totally "get it".

The elaztec (or whatever it's called) material is something way different than what has been used in the past, like beetle spin grubs, pieces of regular plastisol, ect.

I poo-pooed the whole thing myself until I witnessed how it looked in the water. I haven't used it myself yet, but have no doubt now as to it effectiveness simply by what I saw in the underwater video.

Truthfully though, if it had been ME that discovered this I would have kept quiet about it instead of insisting that EVERYONE realize its effectiveness.

If a bunch of guys don't ever give it the time of day....then that's GOOD!

Nothing is cooler than having a good fishing technique mastered that few others have learned to do. You can go right behind someone and totally clean-up.

So I'd just shut up about it and allow the doubters to go on about their biz, instead of going out of my way to further convince.

Unless of course I was looking to profit in some other way.

Wrench has hit on my original thoughts on this technique. I'm hoping to give it a go on some lake greenies later today, but honestly, I will have to leave other things at home to give it a fair shake. When I don't get bit, I start switching things up and if I'm going to try this, I'll have to eliminate the urge to switch.

If that is the conclusion, then why are folks so grumpy about it, and quick to dump on it?

Nobody's grumpy about it or dumping on it.

It's a great option to use for fishing. Especially for kids! I

mean there's no easier way to fish that produces so many fish!

It's very cost-effective, it's a no-brainer, it doesn't take special equipment, and there's no wrong way to fish it. It covers the complete spectrum. And it will catch a multitude of species. And in high numbers which is always a plus!

But honestly do we need a new thread on the thing

every week?

Have to agree there. I keep looking because I just have to see what ELSE there is to talk about.....and it just goes around in circles.

I (and others I'm sure) apparently lack the self control to just ignore it.

1. Use ONLY the elaztec stuff and PBJ is a good base color.

2. Use ONLY mushroom heads WITHOUT the collar.

3. Fish it on a semi-slack line.

WTF else is there to keep rattling on about ?

Good Lord !

I figure if folks ask, they should be given the courtesy of an answer, even if it gets repetitive for those answering, or others reading.

There is a ton of info many of us here know, that is completely new or unthought of to others. Not meaning one rig in particular. Yes, they could search the forum and find some of it, but a lot of folks just aren't wired that way.

For the many threads/posts you see, there are even more questions not being asked on the forum. Some are from new fisherman, some are from really experienced sticks who are looking for info on something they have not tried before.

That is not really the case here.

But at any rate, most usually just post a link to the thread.

Maybe Phil can provide a forum just for "The Ned"?

And then these fine brothers of nature can continue with their giddiness of over analyzing, over engineering and just plain old over doing it all in the name of Ned!

You need to take a chill pill or just not click on what you don't like. And that's coming from a friend.
