The day started out slowly and ended well. Jerkbait nada. Wart nada. Green pumpkin Ned 10. 10 feet or less. 50 degree water.

5 smallmouth with two keepers

4 Spots with one keeper

1 keeper largemouth

You can't really fish this little rig too slowly right now.

You are doing as well, or better, than most. It just takes making the commitment to truly slowing down. Would guess a lot of folks are trying to cover water and finesse fish at the same time. Doesn't really work that way, especially before it warms up.

Or it's the rod.

Several bites today when I had deadsticked the bait for several seconds. Slow works.

Nice fish!!! A lot of guys can't fish that slow. They have to be throwing and cranking. It's tough to slow down, when fishing is real slow.
