Sorry, that one got by the editor, meant to say no DEEPER than 10 feet.

had that problem with a tube jig one time, fish would pick it up and hold it , i'd set the hook , no fish.

I finally started catching them once I waited for them to actually eat it. They would pick it up, then about 5-7 seconds later they would go ahead and eat it, then I'd set the hook and catch them. Had to wait for that second "tick" after the first bite. Some of them would pick it up and swim away with it , stop, then swallow it, kind of like a gar does.

last fall I had some swing and misses with the wobblehead just like you said, I put some crawfish and shad scent on my bait and that solved my problem

That Menace grub is a stiff little dude. I went to beavers, bugs, craws on the swing head. Have some tweaked for use with Elaztech this spring. The Palmetto BugZ from Zman should work, and the Turbo Crawz definitely works.

Does anyone boil their plastics anymore ? Kinda like a mouthpiece.. stick em in the hot water for a minute or two and they turn butter soft. I used to back when finesse fishing caught fire out West (I'm dating myself). I just buy em soft now but surely if you had some stiff baits it should do the trick.

Never have tried that - how long do you boil them for? Will it screw up the thin appendages like claws?

I never tried it on craw worms. I know I did lizards though. Don't remember having any troubles with the twist tails.

I used the term boil but really its just very hot water in a pot on the stovetop. Some required more time in the water than others but not very long at all. Maybe a minute or two. It's been a very long time since I've done it so I would suggest experimenting a bit with some cheapo baits.

Also, if you choose to use your wifes best stainless pot just dont giver her my name... just sayin

You might try swimming the 1/8oz Ned at those depths.

Also, I have some homemade swing heads with 2/0 EWG's to better fit the junior biffle bug on a baitcasting outfit.

Biffle JR is a good idea. I have some junior sized Megastrike Megabugs that would probably also work.

If you want the absolute best wobble head on the market call Chompers and talk to Ed. Tell him you want the 7/16th. with the lite wire hook, that Babler is using. Your problems will be solved. 417-634-1146

Also. There is not a bait even close to the Yamamoto Fat Baby Craw, in Green Pumpkin. It is soft as jelly and they simply love it. Caught over 500 on this combo last year. Good to see it is getting started again.

i love throwing big bite baits craw tubes and net bait paca craws on a wobble head. i used a 3/0 vmc ewg zbend hook but missed several fish so papi and I made up 3/8 and 1/2oz wobble heads with the same hook but in a 4/0 in the 3/8oz and 5/0 in the 1/2oz. i'm getting a much better hook up ratio. Bill I'm going to try the chomper lite wire wobble head. I use a 4/0 hook on my structure shakeys too. I like the z bend because I don't have to peg my baits on the wobble heads.

Nice point on that Pac a Chunk, it is a very small profile trailer and It looks like it would also work well. Probably get more than one fish out of it also. That Yamamoto bait will catch their butt's, but your only going to get one maybe on a perfect day 2 bites on it and it is destroyed. It however is just crazy good, and I'll keep on using it, as it has proven itself to me over and over.
