Members jackman724 Posted March 27, 2015 Members Posted March 27, 2015 Left Little Aunts area around 10 and shot straight up the James and fished from Point 11 on up. Expected to really struggle post front but wound up with 16 total and 4 keepers. Only consistent bite was on the crank-8 wart and 1 Crawler fish. Also picked up 3 on a jerk and my first 3 Ned fish ever. Thanks to Dave for the jig heads and to all on this forum for all of the info. Another tool in the arsenal now. Water had great color and some stain. Found water as warm as 56.5 and as cool as 49. Seemed the farther up we went the warmer it got so we kept heading farther up. Wind was brutal but found most fish on those windy banks that were just getting beat to death. If you could stand it, it was rewarding for sure. All fish were caught in under 12 ft of water and we caught our last fish around 4:30. Hopefully some of this is helpful to some of you. Spend too much time reading and not enough time contributing to this great forum. Down until Sunday then back end of April for 10 days. Thanks again to everyone on here for the open and transparent dialogue. It is really helpful to folks like me who live elsewhere and only get those precious few days on the water. Stacy Jordan 1
Champ188 Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 Thanks for kicking in your report and congrats on a good day. Things are about to get really good. Gotta love when they post up on those windy banks and get their feed on. Dewayne French 1
willyfish Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 Everything has been so doom and gloom with the weather and the bite, you just gave a shot of encouragement
Quillback Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 Thanks for the report, that's some good fishing!
dblades Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 Fished in and around Aunts creek yesterday daylight till about noon with a buddy, man was it cold early. Caught a mixed bag, of all three bass species on Rogues. Wind with ledge rock close to channel swings seemed to be the key. Biggest was 3 1/2 -4 lb largemouth.
fishingaddiction Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 Thanks for the reports from the James guys. Fish are making a move shallow, good to hear the water color wasn't that bad also. Hammer time 1 Born to Fish. Forced to Work.
Hammer time Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 Great job guys way to hang in there on those wind pounded banks. As you stated the rewards can be huge. Some of my best days have come when you have to stay on the trolling while landing fish to avoid getting blown on the bank. fishingaddiction and Champ188 2
