Also, before you launch and tie to the dock go to the bathroom or beach the boat.

Here's one for ya......

A bass angler with dual power poles pulls up to dock, drops both poles and doesn't tie to dock but parks at dock. Gets fish out and goes to weigh in.

That's just as bad as the party barge crowd that takes 45 minutes to lunch. No respect or thought for others.

Not hating on the bass guys. I am one. Just saying.....it's people in general sometimes. Not a specific group or type.

These jerks could likely have found some busted windshields and windows and a really nasty note left on their trucks. I'm not condoning vandalism, but there is such a thing as vigilante justice, and these A-holes could easily have earned it. I once lived on a private lake that had continuous problems with people fishing there despite their having been warned and police called on them repeatedly. Some of the residents took to cutting the tires of people who launched their boats on our lake. None of those clowns who lost tires ever made a repeat visit I was told. Some people just can't take a hint. Push people far enough, and you'll get what you bargained for. A couple of slashed $200 truck tires is a powerful persuader.

I have a friend, a Jewish carpenter, whom you should get to know. If you do, your life will never be the same.

Stupidity has no season. I took this last night at the gas station.

Boat ramp courtesy is a thing of of the past; along with most other manners, etiquette, and courtesies in our present day narcissistic world.............

Bird watcher,

I worked with a guy that blew up an entire gas station, just like those 2 clowns are doing.

He was on the hook for a lot of money to rebuild the place.

Do stupid things, win stupid prizes.

So if he would have tied it would have been different? Or was it a single small courtesy dock? More details are necessary.

Most boats at most tournaments that I've ever attended tie up and weigh them, then load after the weigh in. Especially at Grand. Most times you have no choice at all. This depends on the situation though. You wouldn't do this at say mutton creek at Stockton or eagle rock at Table Rock.

It was a courtesy dock big enough for about 3 bass boats. One on each side and one squeeze in on the end. There are two of these docks where this occurred.

About 98% of the tournament anglers beach their boats, weigh in, and then load. There are the exceptional few that are afraid to skuff their keel and use the docks.

Now when I had an older glass boat, I used the dock to load every chance I got. It was old, didn't have a keel guard and I wanted to keep it looking as good as I could. I still use a dock with my aluminum boat when I can. But if there are hundreds of boats trying to load, I won't.

The point was he had poles. He could have beached easily without the keel even touching the bank. So in my mind, tying off to the dock vs. using poles makes no difference. Y shouldn't tie up the dock while you weigh in. That can take up to 20-30mins sometimes if there is a long line. Especially when 98% of the field is beaching.

Just my perspective I guess.

Yea that's why I asked. Some situations it's just being a jerk but others it's the only option. Beaching or not though that's up to the individual. Some just don't like it. I do it but that's me.
