Struggled a bit yesterday morning. Has been like that for me every time we have rain or wind. No clue as to why.

Fish were up very shallow in coves, some running bait along the banks. Quite a bit of pairing and rubbing going on. Mostly spots with the occasional brownie or black. Caught several small keepers and shorts.

After the drizzle moved on through I went to some shallow flat gravel. Had to line up behind a couple of tmt boats, then got cut off by a dude in a jersey, driving a vee hull bass tracker of all things. Some things just don't make sense, as they say. He was fishing a jig or something similar so fast it would have taken Super Bass to catch it. The others were mostly too deep.

From about 2pm to 4pm had 10 keepers, with a very few shorts. Biggest was 19", with three more over 18". All in less than 10', all on the little guy in PBJ and the 1/8 head. The 1/16 was the deal on the cove fish.

Color is still spotty. Temps were up to 64 in places, if I believe my graph, which is sputtering a bit. Best banks have shad up on the bank.

I really prefer the prespawn to the actual bumping and grinding fish. They don't bite as well when they are actually getting busy. I want the females looking for the pre game meal or enjoying a post coital snack.

Agreed. It was in such full swing that I even caught a brown fish sight fishing. Couldn't see the fish, just threw at the bed. Believe she was trying to make more meanies, as the bed was up in about 2' and surrounded by spots on beds.

Might have to send you some TRDs out of spite. When I was out with Rick, I threw at a few gizz, was hoping to send you a pic. Should have dip netted some and hooked them on the Ned to give you a fit. Have a good trip.

I most def would have left that little tramp alone. I would love to catch more meanies.

That's funny! My obsession precedes me. Enjoy the rest of your time at TR. I'll send word from 10K.

Hey, we're trying to wake up and get going. Quit posting. You're distracting us. Lol Coffee's on and think we'll head to Ma's for some grub and a refill shortly. Caught the heck out of 'em Baxter to Big Creek Saturday 9 a.m. to 6:30, but nothing big. 7-8 keepers out of close to 60 fish for 13lbs - LM, spots, brownies and meanies. Caught a bunch on beds. How fun was that? Used a variety of baits - Ned, trick worm, blade, top water.

Champ188 just corrected me. He said best 5 weighed 15 pounds, not 13 pounds. I'm in charge of keeping up with how many we caught and he's in charge of the weight. ;)

Judging by the background in this pic, you weren't kidding when you say you caught em on the gravel!

So good it catches them in parking lots. Just ask Quill.

Did the same again today with Huntest in the boat. Dave had a beautiful 19" brownie, a buck based on the spraying. Have the feeling the girls are coming in to play at night.

I finally tried the TRD yesterday. I like how it fits the leadhead just right. Makes it easier to glue.
