Buffalo Fishing Tips needed

I want to catch some buffalo. I would appreciate any tips on what baits, when to go, where to go to catch these fish. I'm hoping that Oneshot can chime in on help. I'm willing to travel to catch some.

Buffalo I usually catch by accident either fishing with my Cornmeal Black Strap Molasses Dough Bait or Chicken Liver. In truth I think Buffalo like Something of a Meat on the Bottom than a Carp. So even Worms on the bottom should work.

I've caught most mine Pomme de Terre or Truman but always found them in Large Bodies of water where I find Common Carp.

3 years ago I could have put you on more buffalo than you could dream of, but I think the bowfishers have almost cleaned them out. The huge numbers seem to be gone now.

I caught one when I was fly fishing for carp last year. It was towards the end of May around the time the carp spawn was happening. There were a bunch stacked up in the riffles.

I was always bank fishing.

I used to sight fish for them in Lake of the Ozarks, flats in the early mornings with dough bait. That's been about it, aside from alternative methods.
