fishinwrench Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 This discussion is going to hell in a heartbeat. To Hell? Where's that? Just trying to keep y'all tuned in to reality. Nothing is gained by believing something that isn't true, regardless of how "widely accepted" it might be. I see a lot of that going on.
fishinwrench Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Put in at masters with dad yesterday evening they were patrolling so that good. So now you can't change a tire without showing your pedigree ? How's that work?
Aggressor1988long Posted May 4, 2015 Author Posted May 4, 2015 Didnt quite get that fishwrench.changing a tire how are you suppost to do that with a bent axle and hub?
fishinwrench Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 My point was that even if the lawmen were "patrolling" how would they have prevented your tire getting partially removed, unless they literally shook down anyone in the act of changing a tire? And how is them patrolling now going to stop anything else from happening ? So, did anyone show up to dust for fingerprints?
Hammer time Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 I know that there is a few bad apples out there but try your best to overlook those and enjoy the great outdoors, life is short so enjoy while you can. slab slinger 1
fishbait3 Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Aggressor Counties dont have the funds to patrol everywhere same as water patrol and conservation. Most counties only have 1 or 2 the most cops on patrol at night and thats alot of county miles to cover by urself. When i park the truck at ramps I always check my wheels before i launch and once i load and pull up to tie down the boat i check tires.
LoweSTX175 Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 it started going to haitis in a hand basket when the boat patrol was integrated into the highway patrol. i never see a boat patrolman on the lake anymore but seems like that pesky survey person drops by every weekend. you;d think he could remember that old ranger of mine Jim - I saw one partol boat go by at Shaw Bluff Saturday afternoon. First time I've seen a Patrol go by in years on Stockton. It has become a sad day when people like myself carry a pistol on them full time when going fishing on Stockton.
Members Stacy Jordan Posted May 4, 2015 Members Posted May 4, 2015 Dade county conservation agent Doug would be happy to weed out a few bad apples he is a stickler for all activities and has asked several locals here to advise him of any foul play we have a lot of hunting poaching and partying on big sac crazy at times and he said no matter the time day or night give him a call food for thought I have major heart issues and I relate I wouldnt have patience to wait if wife was verbally threatend tho lol! Walcrabass Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Everyone, One thing we need to remember is that Stockton is a secluded lake because of the lack of private ownership on the shoreline. Couple that with large camp grounds and it makes it easy to hide and cause trouble. A lot of people carry personal protection today, I do not blame them. I sure would not want to shoot someone, sure would not want someone to shoot me. It is a different world today and a different frame of mind needs to prevail. When I was young I would go into the National Forest, DEEP, and stay for days by myself. I would not dream of it today. I back packed in other states too. Not today without a group of back packers and person al protection. For now drugs are a way of life for many..... drugged minds do not have reasoning....... be VERY careful. When you go to the boat ramps at night take a big light, check things out before going on shore, look around vehicles before approaching them, if the boat ramp is not lit at night do NOT USE IT WITHOUT BEING WITH A GROUP OF PEOPLE. I have known people that have been jumped WHILE IN THEIR CARS !!! Please be careful, everyone. Always remember.... when you isolate yourself you are giving someone a huge opportunity to cause you some problems. People that live under bridges, in culverts, and off season campgrounds can be pretty desperate. Think long and hard before doing things ....especially early in the morning and late at night. Sorry, I am not a dooms day person, it is just the world we live in now. Wally blacknoseddace, dprice, Aggressor1988long and 3 others 6
