Daughters first big bass

I took my daughter to a kids fishing derby this weekend. I didn't have time in the morning to go pick up some worms or crickets, so I figured she'd do fine with the little varmint. Turns out she did even better than I expected. She caught 6 bass in an hour and a half. All decent sized as well. She even caught this keeper on her own, I was just there to take hooks out and and hold it.

I would imagine it is open. We did an event that was put on by the shopping center, but I didn't see any signs that said "no fishing" or anything.

I love the way it empowers kids to go fish on their own, without being tied to bobbers and bait. I'm sure she felt like a superstar.
