mixermarkb Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 I have had decent luck with it when the lake was up, but I really hit the right place at the right time on this trip-
mixermarkb Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Truthfully I just was getting tired of trying to free hung up Ned rigs so I tied on a Fin for the boy and a spook for me. They liked the spook a lot better, but he still caught 3 keeper size bass, and had a blast Fish24/7 1
Fish24/7 Posted June 23, 2015 Author Posted June 23, 2015 I might as well get used to it.. have that gut feeling this high water isn't going anywhere for a VERY long time, I'm thinking months. would not be surprised if we see max pool levels before long 682.23 today recreational water quality reports for taney county http://www.taneycohealth.org/download/week3_rec_water_quality_report.pdf
Rob P Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 where was the link that described 688 by the 4th? It was interesting to read about Table rock height/discharge with the lower white river levels and when BS can start dumping water. Thanks.

Members HardHead Posted June 25, 2015 Members Posted June 25, 2015 Got on the water about 11 this morn, fished until 3pm. Went back out from 7-9. My buddy I'm with lost a 3lb smaller at the boat on his first cast with the Ned. Downhill from there. Fished mostly main lake and a few secondary points right by biltmores dock. Sat in 50 to 25 for and casted toward bank. Caught 11 short fish and one skinny 1lb 14oz keeper. Ned, couple drop shot fish. Had a fish break me off right before we headed in swimming a grub in 28fow. I'll be back out tom at 5am and will report back - hopefully with better intel Fish24/7 1

Members alnt Posted July 7, 2015 Members Posted July 7, 2015 Fished this weekend up the Theodosia arm in between the rain and boat traffic. The road to the marina and the ramp north of the bridge provide good access to the water but with limited parking. Most of the core park in Theodosia is completely under water, but it made for good fun for folks wanting to swim on/through the playground equipment and shelters. There is some wood floating, but with any wind the lake is clean enough to boat if you are careful. Not much luck on bass, other than a few here and there on topwater and ned. Fish looked to be concentrated about 20-25' deep right above the thermocline. I also tried grubs, shakey head, drop shot, trolling/casting cranks but nothing happening. Did have some follow the bait to the boat and watch it while I tried to get them to bite - frustrating. Did manage to put together a crappie pattern with minnows on Saturday that got us a 1/2 dozen keepers to make a couple meals out of. That and the one gar my wife caught made for a decent weekend.
