dtrs5kprs Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Watch out. We know the Ned won't catch them... Beautifully shot Phil. Really sums up the little rig at its simplest. Catching some, relaxing with a friend, taking in some nature. Muddy Water, motoman and Squirrel Fishin' 3
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted May 18, 2015 Author Root Admin Posted May 18, 2015 Where were you fishing? Secret spot...
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted May 18, 2015 Author Root Admin Posted May 18, 2015 We caught almost all fish off a point in 17-22 feet of water. 1/8th ounce head, light line (our trout rigs) and crawling it on the bottom. Hard to set the hook because they'd drop it so fast. Once the wind laid, we did better feeling and hooking more. Did catch some on an 1/8th ounce marabou jigs, brown/orange. No gogs yet... I thought we'd find some.
Members flyrod17 Posted May 19, 2015 Members Posted May 19, 2015 I had the same trouble, guess I don't have the "Ned Touch" yet. But tomorrow is another day! "I'm Haunted by Water"
dtrs5kprs Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 I had the same trouble, guess I don't have the "Ned Touch" yet. But tomorrow is another day! Have to work on trying not to feel it. If you try to feel the bait, or the fish, it generally does not go well.
duckydoty Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 The bait just seemed to get a little heavy or the line would start swimming. I ended up just setting the hook any time it felt or looked just a little different. Found some goggle eyes yesterday, or at least some fish that were similar to goggle eyes.
