Quillback Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Tough morning for me, 8 bass total, a 2.5 smallie and a 2.5 LM were my best fish. Just could not find them, deep, shallow and in between, I tried a lot of places. One top water fish, the rest on Ned and jig. Saw a school of small mouth fingerlings in the shallows by the Big M ramp, don't know that I've ever seen a school of them in a lake before. Surface temp 72. huntest 1
jtram Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 It was brutal last night also, between me and a buddy we brought 3 to hand and lost 2 at the boat from 7p.m. to 10p.m. Same thing deep points shallow brush and everything in between. Really thought the night bite would be on.
Ham Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 We've really gotten spoiled by the silly numbers of fish we all have been catching lately.. A buddy was all but apologizing for the last two trips he has made where he caught upper 20 something fish, both times he fished less than a full day. In the old days, I would have called people bragging about a bass trip with > 25 fish. I'm sorry you didn't find em like you wanted to, but you got to catch 8 bass and go play the game. You had a couple of decent ones and a topwater fish to boot. I wish I had spent my morning like you did. Champ188 and Quillback 2 Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. dtrs5kprs Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Where's the trout? How is it a good day without a wayward slick fish? Give them a week, and maybe a little stability in the water level. It will be whack fest time again. Quillback 1

dtrs5kprs Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 I'm waiting for the pic of a goggleye on the front hook of a redfin, and a trout on the back hook. Get to work on that. Sounds like the brown fish have figured out there is an extra 40 miles or so of river to take over.
