Light jigs tipped with half a crawler is a classic walleye technique and the Ned fits that pattern well. I have caught several keeper walleye on them. Just for giggles, try the bank opposite the resort that used to be Fletcher's also known as Devil's Dive. Bill Babler has it marked as "jig" location on this site's maps. It may be a bit of a community hole, but there is a reason.

Yes, but God help me if I get bored enough to fish for walleye  .

Pretty salty for just a couple of hours. Hope our walleye population continues to grow, provided they aren't detrimental to the bass.

Very rare indeed. Just stumbled upon a location that had a good concentration of fish, with very favorable weather conditions. A small pocket with two points on either end. There were also three of us in the boat. :secret-laugh:

@ rps. Nice..... around your neck of the woods? Did you know J.D.? Spent many days with him and my dad back in the 70's & 80's growing up. Great memories. If you knew J.D. send me a private message and we can swap some stories. www.BrowningCollector.com

I never met JD, although I've been told enough stories to know he was a classic character.

You know I'm funnin'. If I had more time I'd fish for all kinds of fish I skip over now. We do get a lot of walleye bite offs on the Ned fishing gravel around 13. More of them down that way than folks think. In fact Ned fishing is a lot like fishing a jig for eyes up north. End result is just more entertaining when it is brown.

Hard to see why folks would go to TR to walleye fish when they could be at Stockton or Bull. Kind of like the folks who drive past LOZ to crappie fish on TR.

Go bass fishing and throw a California Craw-colored Ned rig on gravel areas. You'll catch a lot of bass and probably have a few bonus Walters mixed in.

True walleye guys get mad if they catch bass while pursuing the toothy critters.

Unless the bass are brown,,then I personally can deal with. Green fish are not for me. I did troll up a largie that went 7.5 at bull shoals out of 40 foot of water. That was interesting. Anyone been fishing the flats across from Baxter boat dock at all?
